TCS Marathon van Amsterdam (42,2 km)
Six members of the ING running team took on the challenge of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon! 42.2km through the beautiful Amsterdam city. Highlights include: The Rijksmuseum, Vondelpark, Amstel River, Zuidas Business district and of course ending in the Olympic Stadium.
The daunting distance, dark clouds, rain and a bit cold did nothing to deter the runners. Due to the various starting times and two different starting areas, It was not possible to meet up beforehand.
The event was well organized with plenty of DJs, entertainers, and supporters along the side. And also a quieter long stretch along the stunning Amstel.
The frequent spells of rain also did not deter the supporters who stood on the side cheering us on. It was truly amazing and helped carry us through especially towards the end!
