After cheering my wife and all the other runners at the 5km run I met Roseline and Marco for a picture and shortly after we went to the starting area just below the Kraaiennest Metro station at the heart of the Bijlmer area. After a few years the organization moved from the Anton the Kom square to this starting and finish area with more space which was filled with food trucks, crowd and runners! 

The route took us with a large and a small loop through the area with amazing cheering zones and nice green areas. Weather was good, although we did catch some rain on the way.

Gary took the challenge of the 21k and started almost two hours after the start of the 10k, so we didn't met. Gary enjoyed as well and finished sub 2 hours, a personal best! He also got the well-deserved medal with the portrait of Jerry Afriyie.
