Race Report — Groet uit Schoorl Run
Sunday, 8 February 2026
The 46th edition of the Groet uit Schoorl Run delivered everything you'd hope for on a crisp, sunny Sunday: great conditions, a buzzing atmosphere, and a strong turnout from our team. With eight runners spread across three distances, we were well represented on the course. For some, it was their first time experiencing Schoorl's famous trails; for others, it was a familiar annual tradition, snow or shine.

Motivations varied across the group: chasing a PR, logging a solid training effort, or simply getting back into racing after injury. After a short warm‑up and some final words of wisdom from our seasoned Schoorl veterans, we made our way to the always-busy starting area.

As expected, the opening kilometres through the village were crowded and required some patient manoeuvring. Once we reached the forest, the trail opened up, and smaller groups could settle into their rhythm. The first incline came early, followed by an unexpected moment at the aid station, where the energy drink turned out to be served lukewarm, not exactly ideal under bright sunshine.
The route then led us toward the dunes with sweeping views of the sea, reminding us why Schoorl is one of the most scenic runs on the ING calendar. Some sandy, slippery sections near the beach demanded careful footing, before the course looped back toward the village. Those running the 30 km faced an additional loop through the woods to round off their distance.

At the finish, every participant received a commemorative medal—replacing the traditional towel from previous years. All in all, it was a fantastic edition: excellent weather, beautiful scenery, and strong performances across the board.
