Sunday the 12th of April was one of those rare days where everything just worked. Sunshine, great energy, and thousands of runners coming together to celebrate one name that still echoes through Amsterdam: Johan Cruijff. At exactly 14:14, we gathered at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. A start time that felt as intentional as the run itself. You could sense it straight away. This was not just another race. This was something with meaning.

Together with six colleagues, we took on the 14 kilometers and one for the 5 kilometers through Amsterdam East and Betondorp. With iconic stops along the route which were important for Johan Cruijf. The route may be familiar, but it never loses its impact. Along the way, the atmosphere carried us forward, with enthusiastic crowds and a shared sense of purpose that made every kilometer feel part of something bigger. Although the run didn't have a lot of obstacles, the steep bridge to the Arena was the most difficult part. But I must say the hardest climbs have the best view, and what a finish it was!! Returning into the ArenA, with the energy of the crowd and the significance of the moment, gave that final stretch an extra edge. One by one, we crossed the finish line, each with our own pace, but all sharing the same sense of achievement.

It was a day full of energy, connection, and pride. A great reminder that sport has a unique way of bringing people together. ING Runners: seven colleagues, one experience, and a finish line inside an iconic stadium.
